How a Shunt works

About Me

Monica: Leicester, NC, United States; I had a brain tumor at 8 years old that caused hydrocephalus. The pressure build up crossing my eyes and caused me numerous problems from memoryproblems to needing to learn to walk again. I was under the understanding that the shunt was fine and did not ever need replacing. 20 years later I started having complication where I found out I had this condition, hydrocephalus. Without knowing what I had I have now had 19 surgeries. I blog about my condition and others with my condition like Rev. Billy Graham, Steve Cox, Recent American Idol contestant's daughter Paris Tassin and most recently shunted Congress woman Gabriel Giffords
